Art Miami 2015

More on my trip to Florida a few weeks ago; we took a roadtrip to Miami from Orlando. The purpose of the trip really was to visit my father and a few friends we have, but to my luck we arrived during Miami Art Week. The city was buzzing with celebrities, bloggers, artists, etc. I had no idea, but my father had obtained VIP access to Art Miami, which is basically the famous Art Basel’s counterpart, with a deeper focus on the actual art over the social aspect of the events. We were able to view, firsthand, hundreds of pieces of Contemporary and Modern art from galleries around the entire world. My favorite pieces, were, of course, those with a fashion inclination.
We also crossed the street to the Context tent. Context is the sister of Art Miami, which is dedicated to highlight emerging artists presenting cutting edge, technology driven art. I was blown away! It was all so fascinating! We ended up at the famous Wynwood Walls, which is a huge block of walls that are covered in murals painted mostly in Graffiti. It’s no surprise that I gravitated towards the Lotus wall, but it was all fantastic. Swarms of people, tourists and locals, flooded the streets of Wynwood to enjoy the art and after parties for a super fun night in Miami.
