Happy Dominican Independence Day! I may not have been born on the island, but my blood runs deep with a rich Dominican heritage 🇩🇴 Planned and executed my first virtual fundraiser event in only weeks as VP of @texasfashionindustry and it turned out amazing! Truly in awe of my team for coming together and making it happen and driving for special deliveries all over the city. I’ll spare you all the details, but virtual events can be just as hectic as in person! It’s #workoutwednesday and I’m working my booty off to create a fun experience while we work towards our goals together. This coming Saturday I’ll be teaching my very first apprentice Mat Pilates class at @inbalancesa . To say that I’m filled with nerves and anxiety is an understatement! But I’m doing everything I can to prepare by practicing every day, picking out a badass playlist, and ultimately deciding that I’m gonna have fun with it. Sharing details on my FREE VIRTUAL CLASSES soon! I can’t think of a better time to promote Texan business. @elsewearcosmetics is not only based in Texas, but female and Black-owned, too! Not to mentioned the makeup is beautiful, vegan and cruelty-free. What’s not to love?! Us my code for 10% off your next purchase with my code LOTUS10 at checkout. They ship nationwide, too 😉 It’s kind of crazy that we went from Blizzard to Spring within the last 7 days. The effects of the storm are still lingering, though. So many Texans are dealing with having to repair, rebuild and heal from loss. We must continue our efforts to help those in need. Donate if you can, and continue to share resources where people can seek assistance. Together we will get through it! #texasstrong #texassnow2021 The day is perfect for outdoor activities! I decided to do restorative yoga on the patio today because it’s been a cold and stressful week. My neck and back were in pain from the tension caused by the snow storm, the power outages and the constant feeling of worry during the storm. Prayer, meditation and yoga work for me as a tension relief. Whether it’s at-home mini facials, long showers, baths, cooking/baking, watering your plants, reading, journaling, praying, meditation, breath work or exercise we all need to do things for ourselves that ease our minds and bodies. What kind of activities help you to relieve stress? Finding joy and beauty in little things. Grateful to have heat, power (even though we lost it for 15 hrs on the coldest night) and water during this insane Texas freeze. My family is safe, with no damages to property. These small things we often take for granted, and even though these are tough times we can still find joy and gratitude in our lives. Remember, winter always turns to spring and this too shall pass. Praying for those who are still in the midst of the struggle. If you need a warm place to go, I’m continuing to share resources in Texas for warming stations and water distribution in my stories. Another snow day in South Texas... Beautiful as it looks, it’s very concerning to see how Climate Change is affecting us right before our very eyes. To ignore this is just plain dumb. We need Climate ready alternatives for energy and contingency plans for this type of emergency. No longer can our leaders ignore the inevitability of change and must act now. But first, I’m sharing some resources to help those in immediate need. Swipe to see and I’ll be sharing more in my stories as I find them. Please stay safe and warm! #texassnow It’s been a day. Snow still on the ground, half the city without power and we’re bracing for more snow/sleet/ice tonight. This morning, during my prayers and meditation, I expressed gratitude for having heat and water and a warm home, while so many out there are without during this atmospheric phenomenon. A few hours later, we lost power and just got it back after 4 hours with the house internal temperature dropping. We just got it back and we are preparing for the worst tonight. Praying for everyone to be safe and reach a warm location. This is increasingly dangerous for vulnerable communities and being in the middle of a pandemic sure does not help. Stay safe and warm!
