Last Thursday, the San Antonio Fashion Society had the privilege of being invited to an exclusive private showing of the Carolina Herrera Spring Preview. The pieces are on display, but not yet for sale. We were treated to delicious champagne and sweet treats, plus the opportunity to view and try on the samples from this magnificent collection. The color of the season that CH is presenting for Spring is Emerald Green. Of course, the collection includes other jewel tones such as Royal Blue and the classic CH Red, with a hint of her classic black & white. B&W was done right with bold stripes and polka dots. When it comes to fabrics, Carolina played around with bringing in something a little new. Some of the dresses and skirts this season are made of Neoprene (Scuba material). This material can be a little tricky, but when done right it adds a fun, playful touch to A-line shapes. The collection also included a thin striped dress with asymmetrical seams, that played with the stripes themselves. It’s such a fun and youthful piece, one of my favorites. She never fails to include a classic collection of strong white blouses. This spring she brings ruffles for added feminine flair.
El Jueves pasado, l@s miembr@s del San Antonio Fashion Society tuvimos el privilego de ser invitad@s a un evento exclusivo para mostrar la colección de Primavera de Carolina Herrera. Las piezas estan en mostrador, pero aún no están a la venta. Fuimos bienvenid@s con unas copas de champaña y golosinas, junto a la oportunidad de medirnos las muestras de esta magnífica colección. El color de la temporada para CH es el verde Esmeralda. Claro, también incluye otros tonos como el Azul Royale y el clásico rojo de CH, con unas cuantas piezas de blanco y negro en rayas gruesas y otras de puntos. En cuanto a telas, Carolina tomó un riesgo con trajes y faldas en neopreno (material de scuba) el cual puede ser dificil de manejar, pero en este caso lo hizo de forma divertida y le da un toque juvenil al Corte-A. La colección también incluye una pieza de rayas finas con cortes asimétricos y juega con patrón de las rayas, una de mis piezas favoritas. Ella nunca falla en incorporar en su colección las blusas blancas estructuradas. Esta primavera la blusa tiene volantes para ese toque femenino añadido.
I had the chance to play dress up for the evening and try on a few pieces. I couldn’t resist the temptation of trying on a dress from the ’14 Winter collection. This dress caught my eye and the fit was simply flawless. The strapless midi dress fit me like a glove. The abstract flower print on the metallic fabric was subtle, feminine and so elegant. It was a coincidence that my shoes matched perfectly!
Tuve la oportunidad de jugar a princesa y medirme varias piezas. No pude resistir la tentación de medirme de la colección de Invierno ’14. Este traje me llamó la atención y el entalle estaba impecable. Este traje “strapless” estilo midi (corte de falda debajo de la rodilla) me cayó como anillo al dedo. El estampado de flores abstractas en la tela metálica era sutil, feminino y bien elegante. Fue pura coincidencia que mis zapatos combinaban!

This dress is SS 2015. The bold stripe is striking and the ruffled back is such a unique touch. I felt amazing in this dress! I should have been on the red carpet for sure. The dress just screams elegance and sophistication, which are true Carolina Herrera attributes.
Este vestido es Primera 2015. Las rayas gruesas sobresalen y la espalda con volantes es un toque bien único. Me sentí increíble en este traje! De verdad que era digno de alfombra roja. Este traje es pura elegancia y sofisticación, atributos que son únicos en Carolina Herrera.
The event was fantastic. Thank you to the San Antonio Fashion Society for putting this together and a big thanks to the Carolina Herrera store at The Shops at La Cantera for hosting. The staff treated us so attentively and made us feel very special. It was a great night!
El evento estuvo fantástico. Gracias al San Antonio Fashion Society por organizarlo y mil gracias a la tienda de Carolina Herrera en The Shops at La Cantera por ser anfitriones. El personal nos trató atentatmente y nos hicieron sentir especiales. Fue una linda noche!
