Happy Saturday! Last Saturday, I attended the Heart of Hearts Gala for the American Heart Association. It was a who’s who of San Antonio and charitable giving. I was immediately drawn to the event, since I have a personal connection to the cause. My grandfather on my father’s side suffered from an enlarged heart which eventually lead to his passing. He literally had a huge heart and was beloved by so many, from our big family to his community. I’ve been involved with the Heart Association raising money and awareness since he passed away and this was such a wonderful opportunity to honor him in a grand way. The event was held at the Omni Hotel at Colonnade and it was beautiful. I was so honored to be invited to sit at the Style Lush TV table, which was ultra glam, champagne and all! It was great to hear some of the stories and connect with them on a personal level; they are such a wonderful group of fashionable people. I’m glad they hosted this event with the Omni Hotel. Heart disease is the #1 (silent) killer in America, raising awareness and money to help those afflicted with the illness is crucial to eradicating it.

Feliz Sábado! El Sábado pasado, estuve en el Heart of Hearts Gala para la Asociación Americana del Corazón. El evento contaba con la crema de la crema en San Antonio. Tan pronto supe de la Gala, estuve interesada porque la causa es muy personal para mi. Mi abuelo por parte de padre sufrió de condición cardíaca y eventualmente falleció por ello. Literalmente tenía un corazón enorme, y era muy querido por nuestra familia grande y miembros de la comunidad. He estado envuelta con la Asociación del Corazón desde que falleció y qué mejor manera de honrar a mi abuelo que atender a este gran evento? Se llevó a cabo el el Omni Hotel del Colonnade y fue muy bello. Tuve la oportunidad de sentarme en la mesa de Style Lush TV, el cual estaba ultra glamoroso con champaña y todo! Fue muy bonito compartir con ellos y escuchar sus historias sobre como han sido afectad@s por condición cardíaca. Es un grupo de personas bien chéveres y de tremendo estilo. Me alegro que hayan sido anfitriones de este evento junto al Omni Hotel. Enfermedad cardíaca es el asesino (silencioso) #1 en Estado Unidos y es sumamente importante crear conciencia y recaudar fondos para las personas y familias afectadas por esta terrible enfermedad.
