Met Gala 2013: Chaos to Couture

The annual Costume Institute Gala at New York’s Metropolitan Museum also known as the Met Gala hosted by Vogue Magazine is the year in fashion’s most anticipated event, bringing together fashion icons and stars alike in a larger than life event and this year it was no exception. The Costume Institute exhibit’s theme was Punk: Chaos to Couture, honoring the fashion of a time where Punk Rock music reigned and the fashion was as outrageous and rebellious as the music itself.

Disregarding Kim Kardashian’s flower Explosion on the red carpet, stars, designers and models generally kept in line with the exhibit and event’s theme. Here are some of the most memorable looks of the night.

Rooney Mara was flawless in Givenchy Haute Couture

Blake Lively in Gucci

Katy Perry is a Goth Queen in Dolce & Gabbana

Sarah Jessica Parker bore a Philip Treacy mohawk headpiece

Emma Watson shows skin in Prabal Gurung

Cara Delevigne was spiked, braided and ready to rock!
