Summer at the J.W. Marriott Hill Country Resort

My birthday was almost 2 months ago and we finally got to do the plan we had originally set up for the day. We had planned to spend the day at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort in San Antonio, but the storm rolled in and we had to postpone. We finally had the chance to go and the day was absolutely perfect! The sun was shining, the pool was cool and the husband and I were extremely relaxed. The best part was when the checkin girl said she loved my outfit, so naturally we had to do a mini shoot, haha! In all, the experience was great. The resort has a huge pool, an adult infinity pool overlooking the golf course, a sandy beach pool, a heated whirlpool, a lazy river you can float with the provided inner tubes and a full on waterpark grade slide. We opted to cool off and just relax, though. One thing’s for sure, the food and drinks are highly overpriced and you can’t bring anything from outside, but who’s to say your insulated water thermos is actually water? Just saying… Aside from that, the staff is attentive and the relaxation is well worth it. A Day Pass grants you access to all the water activities and the game room for the kids, as well. I might opt for the Spa Pass next time. The Lantana Spa has amazing reviews so I might just check it out. This Summer I plan on enjoying myself and continue to discover what Texas has to offer. Rivers, lakes, hiking and, pool time and outdoor fun is what is all about!

Rooftop Vibes

I’m loving the rooftop locations popping up in San Antonio! Paramour Rooftop Bar opened in 2015 and has been THE hotspot in town. They recently added a coffee bar menu and people are flocking to get their lattes with a view of the city. We recently had the San Antonio Fashion Awards and the official afterparty was held at Paramour and it was the chicest party in SA, but more on that later. Still having very warm weather, so we can still wear off the shoulder looks without feeling any chills. These chunky shoes from JustFab are the real winners, though. I’ve been wearing these with everything! I’m obsessed!

Estoy obsesionada!

Go Spurs Go!

I love San Antonio, TX, and I LOVE the Spurs! I mean, they’re the best team in the NBA, ever! Am I right?! Well, being that San Antonio houses amazingly talented artists, it was only natural that muralists of the artist collective Los Otros, Shek Vega and Nik Soupe took on the task of rendering this Social Media Interactive Mural. It’s currently located at Travis Park, before it ships out to be displayed at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, home of the Spurs, I went with my Style Lush TV boss, Burgundy Woods, to check it out the day the mural was unveiled. It was so much fun, jumping up and down to get the perfect jumpshot where it looked like I was making the shot. If you live in SA or are just visiting, be sure to stop by Travis Park, downtown within the next couple of weeks and take the shot! You’re gonna love it!

No creen?!

Warm Fall

Fall is here! Unfortunately, San Antonio hasn’t received the message. It’s still over 90° here! Either way, I’ve started to incorporate Fall pieces into my wardrobe, yet still make it work for this heat. I’ve really been wearing this bandana recently. It was only $1 at Wal-Mart and I really love the color/print. It’s the perfect Fall transition accessory!
He estado usando este pañuelo mucho recientemente.

San Antonio Missions

This is another reason why I love living in Texas. It’s so rich with history, we’re surrounded! The San Antonio Missions have recently been inducted as a World Heritage Site, preserving four of the five Spanish Frontier missions in San Antonio. Exploring the city with my mom, I decided to take her to Mission Concepción, because it’s my namesake, lol. When we arrived, I was truly impressed with how well preserved it is. It was truly filled with so much history and energy, plus a really cool backdrop for an impromptu photo shoot.
